    Description

Cinderella is a hard rock 'glam' band that formed in Pennsylvania in the mid 1980s. They were discovered playing in a bar by then famous rock star Jon Bon Jovi. They were signed to Mercury Records in 1985.

Their debut album, Night Songs (1986), was one of their best albums, including the hits "Shake Me", "Nobody's Fool", and "Somebody Save Me".

The second album, Long Cold Winter (1988), did even better, with the hits "Don't Know What You Got (Till It's Gone)" and "Gypsy Road".

The third album, Heartbreak Station (1990), had more blues style songs, including the title track and "Shelter Me".

Drummer Fred Coury left the band in 1991, and joined Stephen Pearcy of Ratt to form the band Arcade. Cinderella was rumored to have split up at that point, but in 1994, they released their fourth album, Still Climbing. Unfortunately, this album did not sell well because Cinderella's style of music was not popular anymore in the U.S. Hits included "Bad Attitude Shuffle" and "Hot & Bothered", a song that Cinderella recorded for the soundtrack to the movie "Wayne's World" in 1992.

Fred Coury rejoined the band after Arcade folded, and Cinderella released a greatest hits album, Once Upon A..., in 1997. It featured a few new songs, including "War Stories".

In 1999, Cinderella released their first live album, Live At The Key Club, on Deadline Records. It featured live versions of the band's biggest hits. The group then signed to Portrait Records with John Kalodner, and began work on a new studio album.

In 2000, Cinderella went on a successful summer tour with Poison, Dokken and Slaughter. The band was supposed to have released their new studio album on Portrait in 2001, but the label went bankrupt. Suddenly, Cinderella found themselves embroiled in a legal battle with Sony over the rights to their unreleased album material. Though Sony had no intention of releasing Cinderella's new album, they refused to give the band back the rights to the new songs.

Sadly, even to this day, Cinderella is still fighting with Sony to get their songs back and release their new album. Because of the legal battle, the band hs not been able to release any new material on any label. Fortunately, for the fans, Cinderella continues to tour every summer with other 80s bands. In 2005, the band headlined the Rock Never Stops tour with bands like Firehouse and Quiet Riot.

Currently, the band members are involved in other projects when they are not touring together. Singer Tom Keifer is working on his first solo album. Bassist Eric Brittingham works with his wife in a band called Naked Beggars, along with Cinderella guitarist Jeff LaBar. Drummer Fred Coury works with other bands in his spare time, and also produces up and coming bands in his private studio. Coury also enjoys working as a photographer, most notably of weather phenomenon. The band is hoping to put the Sony lawsuit behind them as soon as possible, and release their new studio album in the near future.
